Abstract: The article focuses on a study which examines the desired family size in Bangladesh and its relationship with fertility behaviour. The data for the study was obtained from the 2007 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS). Family size was found to be affected by many socio-psychological and economic factors besides the biological capacity of reproduction.
